Our Society
The Society was formed in 1949 and is comprised of people from all sections of the community and from many different countries who have an interest in ships and maritime activities.
Our Aims
To encourage the preservation of private and public collections of shipping photographs, models, drawings, literature and other material of shipping interest, especially that associated with New Zealand.
Our Activities
The Society has published or assisted with the publication of a number of books. We also publish a quarterly journal "New Zealand Marine News" which is posted to all members.
At present there are active Branches at Hawkes Bay, Taranaki and Tauranga where regular meeetings are held.

Ships Monthly. A comprehensive monthly publication on ships and shipping with many good photographs.
